The Fawkner Residences - 24-hour Concierge
24-hour Concierge
Design team K.P.D.O wanted to create an experience that is warm and inviting from the moment you arrive at reception.

“Our brief was to create a glamorous reception, something you might find in a five-star hotel, but with a sense of arriving home,” says Stephen Javens, director of K.P.D.O. “Security is obviously important when you’re designing residences like this one, but there should be a sense of being welcomed rather than being intimidated,” he adds.

The concierge desk, available 24/7, is not only a meeting and greeting point, but at the heart of the services provided; everything from receiving packages to the booking of function and meeting rooms within the complex.

Travertine has been used extensively in the foyer and reception areas, creating both a sense of luxury and responding to the 1970s origins of the building. Expressed on the ground level in floors, walls and even the reception desk, the latter that appears to have been carved out of the floors.
